This an opportunity to spend 1 or more days outdoors at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in support of the May races and activities. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway uses our Greenwood Band Parents & Students to work various parking lots (grass and gravel lots) around the Speedway. We collect the parking fee and direct the traffic to their spot so that the lot is efficiently utilized. In exchange, the Speedway pays the GBPO for each worker. Our wonderful Pam Wishmeyer, “Wish”, always organizes this for us, and tracks the workers so proper credit is applied to individual student accounts.
If you plan, bring a kid or two with you, do the math, you could pay for 100% of your child’s band fees in a single weekend at the track. These funds can also be used for a myriad of other items such as: Marching shoes, woodwind reeds, private lessons, letter jackets, travel fees (California trip!!!), chart pages, championship rings. Also, the account is maintained into the following school years as long as your student is enrolled.
